“No! We can’t go there!” Zang’s eyes were big and round with fear as he gazed up to what looked like an evil robot. “Look at its eyes! They’re crossed! Surely a sign of evil,” he insisted.
“I agree,” declared Zing, boldly holding his ground. “Zinnia/Peony, whoever you are, we’re NOT going there!”
Zinnia sighed. “You two are trying my patience. You’ll do as you’re told. It’s nothing but a building. I have things to show you in there. No harm will come. Those are NOT eyes, you silly boys. It’s just the way the lights are shining. Come on!”
It is a menacing looking face, I originally though some sort of robot story!

Those lights definitely look like menacing eyes. Can’t say I blame the boys for not wanting to go near them!

I love these two characters. Took a couple of weeks off from writing about them, but this picture was made-to-order for my little aliens.

I always write before I start reading what others have written, so I haven’t gotten very far into the links yet. Always amazes me how differently we all see the same photo 🙂

I didn’t see the eyes either. Well spotted. I liked you’re: “You’ll do as you’re told”. Sounds like my husband.
Well done.
Best wishes,

Dear Linda,
Now that you mention it, it does look like eyes. I can see why Zing and Zang are so apprehensive. Cute story.

I saw those eyes right away. Maybe I’m identifying too closely with Zing and Zang 🙂

Ah, every new experience can be a terrifying one and it does look a bit like a face! Made me smile

I wonder if they will not be in some trouble … three children walking alone in NYC at night, maybe they better transform back into lizards (or whatever their alien being looks like)

Maybe they have. . . . .

I don’t know,I think Zing and Zang might have something there. it does look angry. I would not want to approach a 1500 foot tall angry robot either!

Nice interpretation, Linda. I can’t unsee the eyes now. Funny to think that these poor sods are still bumbling around New York.

Maybe with Zinnia’s help they’ll get it figured out 🙂

They’re back! I thought it was a face too. Zinnia is a bit bossy 🙂

I saw two weird eyes there – I thought it may be something they can switch on and off to give different impressions of the building. I don’t think those boys are so silly. Cautious, yes.

I took a second look at the prompt. You are right.

I really wonder why they trust Zinnia, all she does is boss them around. I saw the eyes, but thought they look cartoonish. You’re right though, they also look menacing.

apparently they understand that she has some authority higher than their own. I’m sure all will come clear eventually 🙂

Details I missed in the photo. It actually looks like a stern face telling two young aliens to behave themselves. Nicely done, Linda

Those crossed eyes were the first things I saw–maybe because I was looking for a new Zing/Zang story 🙂

Glad to see Zing and Zang again. How on earth would they manage without Zinnia! They are not the bravest of scouts. 🙂

Haha, yes. I see the eyes too. They have every right to be scared.

Zinna/Peony has adopted a rather condescending tone, hasn’t she? I can certainly understand why Zing and Zang would be scared to approach such a menacing sight. Like us Earthlings, they see faces in inanimate objects.

You nailed this prompt, it really worked two naughty children seeing to angry eyes. Loved it
