Maddy’s heart thundered, her pulse racing as she sped down the brick walk. Always afraid of the dark, she was ashamed of the fear and tried hard to conquer it. But this was just too much!
Her imagination went wild! What were those shapes? “Just weird, modern sculptures,” she told herself. “Nothing to fear.”
As she neared them, she felt a magnetic pull. ” Come in. We’re waiting for you,” said a metallic whisper. She tried to resist. Tried hard.
“NOOOOooooooooo. . . . . . . .”

Linda, just like I say about paranoia, sometimes there *is* something going on, with fear it is the same. I hope she tosses all of the metallic things away and runs like heck.

Dear Linda,
Apparently, there is more to fear in this story than fear itself. 😉 Nicely done.

Oh dear. Nothing attracts a predator more than smelling the fear on others.

We need to respect the fear; it’s a very powerful thing.

How does that old saying go…Just because we’re afraid doesn’t mean there’s nothing to fear?
