(I’m heading to the hospital in about ten minutes. Having a cataract removed this morning. That mean I have drops in my right eye that blur my vision, and my left eye is far-sighted. So? So I’m probably not seeing what you’re seeing!)
Zing and Zang had gone invisible. What they saw outside the cafe doors was enough to scare them into invisible mode.
The park across the street was full of blue-coated soldiers, all carrying rifles upright on their shoulders.
“Zang, should we teleport home? It looks like things are getting really ugly here in America. I don’t want to be collateral damage.”
“Not yet, Zang. I think they’re just drilling, not actually going into battle.”
“This is tragic. Such a beautiful country, with such a record of incredible success. I hope they can settle this without bloodshed.”
“Me too, Zang. Me too.”
Very timely, I hope they are right.

Maybe Zing & Zang can explore Canada — and the rest of the world. Are they susceptible to Covid-19?
Wishing you a speedy recovery. Amazing what can be done these days! Hubby’s had both of his done without problems.

I don’t know if Zing and Zang are susceptible to earthly maladies. I’ll have to think about that 🙂

I hope all goes well in the surgery, and thank you for expressing our deepest fears and hopes.

The surgery went well, thanks. And you’re very welcome. I truly fear a civil war, especially if the courts come down on Trump’s side.

I wonder how many will be Zings and how many Zangs. I hope the surgery goes well, Linda

Couldn’t tell you, Neil. And thanks, it went just fine. I’m comfortably home and loafing around like the Queen of the World right now 🙂

Praying for a successful surgery, Linda. I think I saw what you were seeing when you wrote this and it’s my great fear as well. Beautifully rendered tale.

Thanks! So far, so good. Beginning to see some clearing of my blurry vision in the right eye.

First, prayers for successful surgery… and a safe one, too. Second… I like this. It speaks volumes and captures that tension present in our land right now. Yesterday morning, we woke to find a horrible accident with explosions had shut down our main thoroughfare north over the Ohio River. (https://www.cincinnati.com/videos/news/2020/11/11/semi-fire-shuts-down-brent-spence-bridge/6246850002/ ) An hour in either direction and that bridge would have been packed with third shift commuters. So very scary.

Thanks for your prayers. So far, so good. A little less blurry and fuzzy today 🙂
I went and read the article. They wouldn’t show me much since I’m not a subscriber. Was anyone fatally injured? Sounds so dangerous!

No one was killed. AMEN! But the bridge…it will be closed for days. Our state has been trying to find funding to replace it for at least 10 years that I know of. Maybe this will be the point when they finally do something about it. It’s terrifying to cross and I try to avoid it.

Tell them to read a legitimate history book. The without bloodshed part may be quite a whole lot to ask

Actually, there’s already been bloodshed. It just isn’t a “declared” war. Yet.

political polarization has blurred america’s vision. hopefully, the new year will bring hope that we can learn to disagree without being disagreeable.

Tell that to AOC and her “squad.” They’re looking for retribution, lists of “sycophants” who need to be “dealt with,” whatever that means. It seems that some have forgotten that this is a nation in which free thinking and free speech is protected.

Very serious for Zing and Zang! I hope they avoid becoming collateral. Glad to hear your cataract op went well. It’s great – I’ve had both my eyes done, and it made a tremendous difference, especially for night driving.

Yes! I can’t drive at night now, because all I see is halos and fireworks :). Looking forward to not hurrying to make it home before dark 🙂

I hope the surgery went well. And I hope no post-election violence!

Thanks, Trent. So far, so good. And the fuzziness is starting to improve, too.
Sadly there has already been post-election violence. Someone was shot dead just this week in Portland, Oregon. So awful.

Zing and Zang are welcome to pop over to my side of the pond until things get sorted out – whenever that will be.
Pleased to hear the surgery was successful.

Dear Linda,
I’m glad the surgery went well. I’m told my time is coming by next year. 😉 At any rate, if I were Zing and Zang, now would be a good time to go home.
Shalom,
Rochelle

A very timely write during these times of uncertainty.
Zing & Zang are great character names. Fingers crossed
there’s limited chaos due to our elections.
Hope your surgery went well. May you heal quickly and with excellent results.
My last eye exam had a similar outcome. YUK … future choice I’ll have to make.

It wasn’t hard for me to choose getting the cataracts removed. Not doing so leads to increasing impaired vision and ultimately blindness. Don’t want to go there!

Thanks for the info. I didn’t know that. Glad you had it done and hope you heal quickly.

The replacement lens we chose addresses my astigmatism, myopia, and something else–can’t remember. It’s miraculous, really, what a little tiny piece of plastic accomplishes.
