“No way, man.”
“Yes way. Wanna bet? You lose, you buy lunch. I lose, I buy. But I won’t lose.”
“Running start, halfway down the hall, you turn around, lob it over your shoulder into the box at the bottom.”
“Yup. You call ‘ready.’
“Ready, set, GO!”
Cam, holding the ball between his thumb and first two fingers, loped down the hall to the midpoint, dance-turned on his toes, and lobbed the ball. It arced, dropped, and settled into the box. Plunk. Done.
“Dude. That’ amazing!” breathed Zeke. ‘
Grinning, Cam replied, “Talent, man. Pure talent. What’s for lunch?”

Zeke got to witness an amazing shot, and Cam got a free lunch. A win-win. 😊

Very clever – although I suspect that the vast majority of the trick shots in the video are fakes, achieved by computer and photography trickery! I do wish I could do such things though!

I wondered about that, although there was some video at the end where they missed, and kept practicing.

Now there is a magic power. Never thought how handy it might be to toss things before.
I enjoyed the banter between the boys.

What a lovely story. The back and forth between the boys is great and I love ‘dance-turned on his toers.’

LOL. Okay that was fun to watch and to read. I’m sure that Zeke considers it totally worth it. I would. Well, as long as lunch wasn’t anything too extravagant. Such a sweet and heartwarming story.

Reminds me of how as children we made up our own games. Great times.

Yes. It was a different world. We went OUTDOORS without coaches or organizations, and just played.

I didn’t see the video. I enjoyed the wholesomeness of the story. Great story without the video.

Dear Linda,
This was just plain fun. I could see the two of them cavorting in the hallway.

It reminds me of how we used to play ball games in the hallway.

I remember that! We lived in an apartment house when I was 5-8 years old, and we would take the ball from our game of jacks and play in the hallway when the weather was bad 🙂

That was a really great piece of fiction, however short. I’ve started to follow you to check out what’s new — I mean, nearly two-thousand people can’t be wrong, can they? Thanks for sharing!
