You’d Better Check!

Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.

As the adults continued to sit around the table, enjoying a cup of after-dinner-coffee, the children took their full tummies off to the living room.  It wasn’t long before their quietness erupted into the high-pitched giggle of the little girls, accompanied by the more robust  belly laughs of the boys.

The adults looked at each other, wondering about the sudden quiet that followed the laughter. Should they check?  Were their little angels up to something?

Again, the quiet was rippled with childish laughter, lasting longer this time and tapering off into snorts and giggles.

“We’d better go see,” said one of the dads.

“Oh, let them be,” said Grandpa. They really can’t get into too much trouble just one room away from us. “
