Utopia?

What does your ideal community look like? How is it organized, and how is community life structured? What values does the community share?

My Utopia would not be a village, town, or city.  People live in them, and people corrupt utopian places. Of course, I’m a people too, so I guess I couldn’t live there either 🙂

The closes thing to a real utopia on earth would be one in which nobody lied to anyone about anything. A liar would turn bright purple or something, and would then be forced to tell the truth. Government of such a place would be based on the principles of the American Constitution, and would be a republic in its truest form.  All would be required to work for their subsistence, and the only exceptions would be illness and/or disability.  Remember, no one could lie, so there would be no fraud. Those who were unable to work physically would be given some useful task that suited the abilities they did have.  Everyone would feel needed, an integral part of the community.

The climate would be a consistent 70 degrees, with enough rain to keep things vibrant and alive; there would be no mosquitoes, and the bees would not sting any human being. Flowers would be in abundance all year long, and the air would always be filled with the perfume of their blooms.

Ah, the place of my dreams.  Maybe heaven will be like that, only better 🙂

  1. Your solution to fraud is an interesting one…very original and very much needed. Love your description of the climate, flowers all year round, etc. Having just survived five colorless and flowerless months, I’m all for flowers all year round.
